We are particularly fond of singing early music - especially vocal music from the Renaissance. The works of the old masters Orlando di Lasso, Thomas Tallis, Josquin des Prez and others are rarely performed today and are therefore relatively unknown to most people. Polyphony developed during the Renaissance - several melodies are heard simultaneously, interwoven with each other to form a harmonic whole. The result is a complex tapestry that inspires us. Nobody really knows how this music was sung and interpreted in the 15th or 16th century, how fast, how loud, with which delays and which accents - so we feel free to interpret and shape the music in our own way!
We have been singing together as VoxXett since 2022. All of us have a history of singing in different choirs for many years. We come from a wide variety of professions and musical backgrounds such as classical, rock and jazz.
Our joy and passion for reviving the treasures of this early music is what brings us together.
